Visser Sees US Financial Trouble as Opportunity for Bitcoin
Macro investor Jordi Visser believes the US is in trouble due to its financial situation and that Bitcoin will be the beneficiary of future money printing. According to Visser, the recent yen intervention by the Treasury signals the government's desperation to stay afloat.
Visser noted that the U.S. carries enormous debt, a worsening deficit, and rapidly growing AI capital needs, making it impossible for the government to raise interest rates without exacerbating its financial woes. The only option is to run the economy hot in hopes of AI productivity catching up, which will ultimately lead to inflation.
The intervention in the yen is a sign that the U.S. is struggling to maintain its economic stability, Visser said. He argued that Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent's call for the Fed to raise the FIMA repo facility cap is a blueprint for future money printing.
