Vitalik Buterin Slams AI-Triggered 50%+ Bitcoin Price Crash Prediction
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has dismissed concerns that artificial intelligence could trigger a significant Bitcoin price crash. Liron Shapira, a Silicon Valley investor, claimed to have 50% confidence in a potential 50%+ Bitcoin price drop within two years due to AI undermining the network's security guarantees.
Buterin disagrees with Shapira's assessment, stating that he remains confident in Bitcoin's ability to address security problems. He noted that developers and mining pools can upgrade their systems if new attacks appear, mitigating many network-level threats.
The Ethereum co-founder also pointed out that the chance of a genuine breakthrough against Bitcoin's hash algorithms or Proof-of-Work (PoW) is 'tiny'. He added that his own net worth is already heavily exposed to crypto, with around 90% invested in it.
