Vlad Tenev's Account Hacked, Fake Memecoin Vladhood Promoted
Roninhood Markets CEO Vlad Tenev's official X account was compromised on July 23, 2026. The hackers used it to promote a fake memecoin called Vladhood (VLAD), claiming it would soon be listed on the Robinhood application.
The post framed Vladhood as the official mascot of Robinhood Chain and provided a blockchain contract address for potential buyers. However, blockchain explorers quickly labeled the contract as a scam, and multiple copycat tokens emerged in the hours that followed.
Roninhood's communications team acted swiftly to contain the incident, stating that Tenev's account had been compromised and the promotional post was removed. The company emphasized that no legitimate company token was involved and urged users to remain cautious in the fast-moving cryptocurrency environment.
