Volatility Spike Looms as Bitcoin Faces Bearish Speculation
A significant transfer of $66 million worth of Bitcoin has reignited debate over whether institutional holders are taking a more defensive stance. Strategy-linked wallets moved another 1,030 BTC without selling it, but this latest transaction occurred as market sentiment remained fragile.
However, attention quickly shifted to derivatives after a newly created wallet deposited $102.6 million into Hyperliquid and opened a 40x leveraged short on Bitcoin. This position had a liquidation price of $64,888.97, just above the current market price.
The combination of these two transactions intensified bearish speculation as they appeared within hours of each other. Large holders also increased their presence on Binance, with the Binance Whale Inflow Ratio climbing to 0.52, its highest reading in four months. This typically appears near both market tops and capitulation phases.
