VTB Bank Prepares to Launch Cryptocurrency Trading in Russia

Cryptocurrency trading in Russia is gradually approaching its legal launch, according to Vitaly Sergeichuk, member of VTB's management board and head of corporate and investment business unit.

The bank is already preparing infrastructure and client scenarios to operate in the market after the new cryptocurrency law comes into effect on September 1, 2026.

Vitaly Sergeichuk mentioned that client interest is noticeable, so VTB is proactively building processes for future digital asset trading.

The key reference point was the cryptocurrency law adopted in 2026. Its provisions are being introduced in stages.
