Wall Street Funds Onchain Markets with $110M Kaiko Investment
S&P Global is leading a $110 million investment in Kaiko, a crypto data provider. This funding round also includes Nasdaq, BNP Paribas, and other major firms. The deal signifies that institutions are moving beyond experimenting with tokenization and starting to fund the infrastructure needed for onchain markets.
Kaiko aims to shape standards as more securities and institutional activity move onto blockchain networks. The company provides market data across over 150 exchanges and protocols, delivering standardized information to banks and asset managers for valuation, trading, and risk management.
The investment suggests that Wall Street is funding the infrastructure needed for tokenized finance, not just experimenting with tokens themselves. Kaiko's CEO Ambre Soubiran said, 'These are partners, not just shareholders.' Together, they will define how institutional money moves onchain.
