Wall Street Sees 170% Upside Potential for MicroStrategy Amid Bitcoin Sales
MicroStrategy, formerly led by Michael Saylor, has made some significant changes to its financial strategy. The company has sold Bitcoin for the first time since 2022, a move that might raise eyebrows given its history of buying BTC.
The recent sales include 32 BTC worth around $2.5 million during May 26-31 and again in July when it offloaded some common shares to boost its cash reserves. The company's decision to sell Bitcoin comes after it reported a decline in the value of its stock, losing over 75% of its value within a year.
Despite this, Wall Street analysts remain optimistic about the company's future prospects. A recent report by Bloomberg revealed that 17 out of 21 analysts have given MicroStrategy a buy or equivalent rating, with three holding and one sell recommendation.
The average price target for MicroStrategy's stock is around $275, indicating a potential upside of approximately 170% from its current value of $100.01 on July 22. Analysts believe that the company's financial model will continue to raise capital and a rebound in Bitcoin will restore the premium investors once assigned to its shares.
