Wall Street's $16.3 Billion Bitcoin Loss Set to be Exposed on August 14
The Wall Street investment community is facing an estimated $16.3 billion in unrealized losses from Bitcoin, according to a recent estimate by Bloomberg Intelligence.
These losses stem from the average net cost basis of US spot Bitcoin ETF capital being roughly $82,249, leaving the position about 22% underwater. The August 14 deadline is looming, when large investment managers must disclose their June 30 Bitcoin ETF positions in SEC filings.
This deadline will offer a clear look at whether institutional adoption built a durable holder base or simply moved momentum capital into a regulated wrapper.
