Michael Saylor recently emphasized the importance of 'bringing Bitcoin to billions' in a post on X. However, Bitwise's Chief Investment Officer (CIO) Matt Hougan believes that the next wave of big adoption will come from Wall Street rather than crypto social media.

Hougan pointed out that major wealth management platforms like Morgan Stanley, Wells Fargo, UBS, and Merrill Lynch control around $20 trillion in client assets. If these platforms were to allocate just 1% to 2% of their assets to Bitcoin, it would result in a 'huge amount of inflows', Hougan said.

Hougan noted that the adaptability of Bitcoin to negative headlines is evidence of a possible market bottom. He cited the Coldcard hack, CLARITY Act delays, and Strategy-related concerns as examples. Hougan also mentioned that these platforms are beginning to add Bitcoin and Ethereum to their model portfolios.
