Wall Street's Quiet Blockchain Revolution

Bitwise Chief Investment Officer Matt Hougan says that traditional and crypto investors are being misled by their own biases when it comes to Wall Street's adoption of blockchain technology.

Hougan argues that anchoring bias is preventing investors from recognizing the scale of this shift. He points out a series of developments, including SEC Chairman Paul Atkins' 'Project Crypto', which aims to modernize securities regulation for on-chain markets.

BlackRock's Larry Fink has also stated that the industry is entering the early stages of tokenizing all assets, and the company has launched its $2 billion BUIDL tokenized Treasury fund on Uniswap. Major banks, such as JPMorgan and Bank of America, are discussing a joint stablecoin.

Hougan believes that this structural shift is being mispriced by investors, who are anchored to outdated narratives. He suggests that building broad exposure to the space rather than trying to pick individual winners could be an opportunity for investment.
