Walmart-Backed OnePay Expands Crypto Platform with New Token Additions
OnePay, the banking app majority-owned by Walmart, has expanded its crypto offering to include more than a dozen tokens since launching digital asset services in January. The platform initially offered only Bitcoin and Ethereum.
The latest additions include SUI, Polygon (POL) and Arbitrum (ARB), following a separate batch of 10 tokens added just days earlier that included Solana and Bitcoin Cash (BCH), among others.
Ron Rojany, OnePay's general manager for Core App and Crypto, said the company is selecting assets based on demand, liquidity, regulatory clarity, and long-term utility. He stated, 'We're less focused on chasing the latest asset and more focused on offering a curated set of assets that align with how our customers actually use and think about their money.'
OnePay has positioned itself as a U.S.-focused financial superapp, modeled on China's WeChat. It offers banking services including high-yield savings accounts, credit and debit cards, loans, and wireless plans. The platform also provides a digital wallet that works at checkout in Walmart stores and on Walmart's website.
