Walmart Unveils Own Women's Clothing Brand Scenario Amid Slowing Sales Growth
US retail giant Walmart (WMT.US) has launched its own in-house women's clothing brand, Scenario, as part of its efforts to attract younger consumers. The new brand will offer affordable and trendy clothing items, including jeans, tops, and shirts, priced under $25.
The move comes amid Walmart's growing sales in the apparel and accessories segment, which have increased for seven consecutive quarters. According to Denise Incandela, Walmart's Executive Vice President of Fashion, the company has not fully met consumer needs in terms of style and quality.
The launch of Scenario marks a significant shift in Walmart's strategy to appeal to younger shoppers who are looking for fashionable and affordable clothing options. The brand will replace Time and Tru, another private label women's clothing brand that was previously available in Walmart stores.
