U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick is facing scrutiny over the administration's decision to grant streamlined access to sensitive U.S. technology for the UAE.

The move has raised concerns, particularly given that entities linked to Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE national security advisor, invested $500 million in World Liberty Financial, a firm affiliated with the Trump family.

Furthermore, MGX, an Abu Dhabi investment firm chaired by Sheikh Tahnoon, used World Liberty's stablecoin to complete a $2 billion investment in Binance. Ranking member Sen. Elizabeth Warren asked Lutnick if other agencies had raised concerns about the potential for this technology to reach China or Iran.
