Warren Slams CLARITY Act as 'Written by Crypto Industry' to Benefit Trump
Senator Elizabeth Warren has expressed her opposition to the CLARITY Act, stating she does not see it passing before the August recess. This is not the first time Warren has voiced concerns about a bill, as she previously spoke out against the Genius Act in similar terms.
In 2025, Warren used strong language to describe her objections to the Genius Act, warning that it would allow Donald Trump to turn the White House into a 'crypto cash machine.' Her concerns included weak consumer protections, unchecked corporate control over private money, sanctions evasion risks, and personal profit for the president.
Warren's comments on the CLARITY Act are largely similar, with her citing corruption, consumer protection, and national security as key issues. She also accused Trump of being 'the most corrupt in American history' and suggested he is taking bribes out in public.
Digital Asset Investor has stated that Warren's opposition to the bill will not significantly impact its outcome, noting that she was just as vocal in her objections to the Genius Act but it still passed. The CLARITY Act remains on track for a vote, with market watchers expecting it to pass despite Warren's comments.
