Warsh's Hawkish Stance Sinks Bitcoin Below $80K
Bitcoin's price briefly dropped below $80,000 after Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh emphasized inflation concerns at the Jackson Hole symposium. He highlighted that inflation rates are still above the Fed's 2% target, with a year-over-year Personal Consumption Expenditures measure of 3.7%, accelerating over six months.
This led to increased expectations for a September rate hike, causing nearly $488 million in crypto liquidations, mostly from traders betting on Bitcoin's rise.
Despite the dip, Bitcoin stabilized around $79,000 to $79,500, reflecting cautious optimism among investors amid ongoing inflation concerns.
