Warsh's Inflation Weights May Unlock $68k for Bitcoin
The Federal Reserve's inflation metrics and their implications for Bitcoin prices have taken center stage in recent discussions. According to data, the Fed is considering five key indicators when evaluating underlying inflation: headline PCE (3.7%), core PCE (3.3%), sticky-price CPI (2.8%), Cleveland Fed 10-year expected inflation (2.43%), and Dallas Fed trimmed-mean PCE (2.2%).
Fed Chair Kevin Warsh has emphasized the importance of these metrics, stating that his reaction function is defined by 'underlying inflation.' However, he declined to disclose how he weighs each indicator.
The data suggests that Warsh may be leaning towards a more patient approach, as the 2.2% trimmed-mean PCE reading is close to the Fed's 2% target. This could lead to a decrease in hike odds and subsequently ease real yields and weaken the dollar's support for Bitcoin.
