Indian cryptocurrency exchange WazirX has launched a campaign to raise awareness about the risks of blindly following online tips and recommendations. The campaign, which features Tigmanshu Dhulia reprising his role as Bauji from Anurag Kashyap's film Gangs of Wasseypur, targets Indian crypto traders who are prone to acting on unverified advice.

The 79-second video, which has garnered over 1.6 million views, uses humor to highlight the issue of online tip groups encouraging users to enter leveraged positions without understanding the market. Bauji's character is recast as 'Bauji', a figure of trading wisdom, who explains to his son that those sharing tips online can earn regardless of whether the trader makes a profit or suffers a loss.

The campaign aims to make a risk-awareness message entertaining while also tapping into India's interest in crypto futures. WazirX has chosen a piece of Indian popular culture to share its message, using Bauji's impatience with his son as a metaphor for the frustration of watching traders repeatedly outsource their judgment to faceless tip groups.
