Wealth Managers Slow to Adopt Crypto Assets
A recent poll of wealth managers by Bitwise Asset Management found that two-thirds have yet to allocate any cryptocurrency exposure for their clients. According to the survey, which was conducted in September 2026 and included responses from roughly 400 wealth managers, 67% had not allocated any crypto assets.
However, the same poll showed that 60% of respondents plan to add a crypto allocation within the next 12 months. This finding suggests that while many wealth managers have yet to jump into cryptocurrency, they are considering doing so in the near future.
The survey also found that 32% of financial advisors had allocated to crypto for clients in 2025, up from 22% in 2024, representing a roughly 45% year-over-year increase. Additionally, 42% of advisors said they could buy crypto for clients in 2025, compared to 35% the year before.
Bitwise Head of Research Ryan Rasmussen presented these findings at a company event, noting that XRP drew significant interest from attendees, despite being an asset that has spent years mired in SEC litigation. The poll also found that 60% of respondents expected crypto prices to be higher by the end of 2026.
