Web3 Maturity: From Speculation to Usability
Arman Mamyan, Integration Lead at Animoca Brands, spoke with CoinEdition about Web3's evolution and challenges. He noted that the industry has moved beyond speculation, focusing on usability, infrastructure, and scalable financial systems.
The biggest difference between blockchain today and when he first entered the space is its maturity, Mamyan said. The excitement was driven by speculation and tokens, but now it's about building sustainable products that solve real problems.
Mamyan emphasized that getting a blockchain product to work in the real world can be more complex than building the technology itself. He highlighted the need for companies to integrate blockchain into their existing systems, rather than introducing it as a separate entity.
The biggest gap between what Web3 technology can do and what users are ready for is usability combined with responsibility, Mamyan said. While users want financial control, they don't want the accompanying responsibilities, such as seed phrases or complicated wallet onboarding.
