Webull Expands Crypto Trading to Canada with Coinbase Partnership
Webull has expanded its cryptocurrency trading services to Canada through a partnership with Coinbase. The move adds Canada to Webull's list of countries where crypto trading is available, alongside the U.S., Australia, and Brazil.
The platform now supports 10 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ether, and Solana, which can be traded and held in custody through Coinbase's Crypto-as-a-Service infrastructure. This integration allows retail investors to access digital assets alongside traditional investment products.
According to the Ontario Securities Commission, digital-asset ownership in Canada rose to 25% in 2024 from 10% in 2023, amid clearer regulatory frameworks and the introduction of the Stablecoin Act. Webull cites this trend as a key reason for launching crypto trading services in the country.
The expansion comes as Canadian regulators continue to develop rules for the sector. While Canada still lacks comprehensive regulations for fiat-backed stablecoins, the Stablecoin Act aims to establish requirements for both domestic and foreign issuers.
