WEMIX has confirmed that an attacker took control of owner privileges linked to its WEMIX$ stablecoin contract on July 26. The compromised owner privileges allowed the attacker to mint approximately 5.23 million new WEMIX$ without authorization.

The incident occurred during WEMIX's transition towards USDC.e services, and it follows a separate breach in February 2025 where attackers removed about 8.6 million WEMIX tokens from the Play Bridge Vault. The attacker then converted the newly minted WEMIX$ into other assets, including WEMIX, USDC.e, ETH, and USDT.

WEMIX has suspended bridges, liquidity pools, and related services while exchanges have traced and frozen suspect funds. The company has not said whether ordinary user balances were directly affected or published a full list of compromised contracts and transaction hashes.
