Western Union Launches Stablecard for USDPT Stablecoin
Western Union has launched Stablecard, a digital wallet that allows customers in 37 markets to receive, hold, and spend Western Union's USDPT stablecoin. The card is available through dedicated applications on Apple's App Store and Google Play.
Stablecard combines a digital wallet with a Visa card, enabling users to transfer funds from compatible wallets or exchanges, receive eligible Western Union transfers, and spend through Visa merchants or ATMs.
The USDPT stablecoin is issued by Anchorage Digital Bank on Solana and can be redeemed at a 1:1 rate for U.S. dollars. The company has stated that it will expand Stablecard to more than 60 markets by the end of the year.
