Whale Accumulation and ETF Inflows Fuel Bitcoin's $70K Rally Outlook
Bitcoin's (BTC) price has been showing renewed signs of buying pressure from large investors. This is according to recent data from blockchain analytics firm Santiment, which indicates that Bitcoin whales and sharks have accumulated over 20,000 BTC since July 29.
This accumulation, worth around $1.2 billion at current prices, occurred while Bitcoin traded in a relatively narrow range below $65,000. Santiment notes that large holders accumulating BTC while smaller investors sell could increase the probability of Bitcoin climbing above $70,000 rather than falling below $60,000.
The contrasting behavior among Bitcoin holders comes amid several sources of market uncertainty, including concerns surrounding the Coldcard hardware wallet hack and the pending U.S. CLARITY Act. However, institutional demand appears to be recovering, with U.S.-listed spot Bitcoin ETFs attracting over $754 million in investor capital this week.
Nexo analyst Liya Kalchev highlighted institutional flows as one of the clearest changes in the Bitcoin market, noting that current buyers may be taking a tactical approach rather than making high-conviction bets. A decisive Bitcoin close above $65,000 could therefore be crucial for establishing a stronger recovery narrative and opening the door to a potential $70,000 rally.
