Whale Accumulation Spotted in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP Amidst Price Pressure
CryptoQuant analysts have observed an increase in whale accumulation of Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and XRP amidst price pressure. Julio Moreno, head of research at CryptoQuant, notes that large holders are accumulating while prices remain near or below the realized price.
This behavior is reminiscent of a bear market's final phase, according to Moreno. The balance of BTC whales has risen to approximately 3.06 million after hitting a low in December 2025. However, this figure remains below the bull market peak of that period, which was around 3.23 million.
Ethereum dynamics are mixed: wallets holding 10,000-100,000 ETH accumulated the asset, increasing their balance to a record 19.6 million ETH (up from 14 million ETH in mid-2025). Conversely, the group holding 1,000-10,000 ETH reduced their holdings.
XRP large players are acting less straightforwardly, with spot orders remaining in the 'large whale' zone and the cumulative delta volume shifting to a neutral zone. This resembles accumulation through supply absorption rather than aggressive buying.
