Whale-Engineered Sell Walls Trap XRP Holders at $32 Price Level

Crypto analyst Jared Johnston has been tracking substantial sell walls on Coinbase concentrated between $28 and $32. The orders, he said, are valued in the tens and hundreds of millions of dollars and appear to have been placed by institutional players and whales.

Johnston's concern is that these large holders are pushing XRP's price rapidly into the low $30s, a level many retail holders never expected to see. When those investors see a number far beyond their prior expectations, they sell. The sell walls then absorb that supply.

'They want to bait XRP holders with a rapid pump up into the low $30 range,' he said.

Johnston references statements reportedly made years ago by Ripple co-founders David Schwartz and Arthur Brito, who allegedly said XRP would need to reach $10,000 to function efficiently at scale. He framed this historical context as a warning: selling at $32 or $33 could mean surrendering an asset that might eventually be worth dramatically more.

'If they can get it from you for $32 or $33, that's much better than $10,000,' Johnston said.
