A whale investor has suffered a significant loss on a Zcash (ZEC) short position, despite having a remarkable track record of profitable trades. According to data from Lookonchain, the whale, identified by address 0x362a, opened a short position of 15,785 ZEC three days ago, anticipating a drop in the price of Zcash.

The whale's previous performance was impressive, with 26 consecutive trades closed at a profit. However, this latest trade has resulted in an unrealized loss of $5.27 million on a total value of approximately $18.95 million.

A short position is typically opened to profit from a decline in an asset's price. However, the ZEC trade did not move in favor of the whale, and the loss reflects the current result before the trade is closed, according to data on Hyperbot.
