Whales Absorb Bitcoin Supply Amid Coldcard Incident Fears

Bitcoin whales have accumulated 19,610 BTC since July 29, according to Santiment data. This increase in holdings occurred during a period of market turbulence triggered by the Coldcard incident.

The Coldcard incident caused anxiety among smaller retail investors, leading them to sell off their positions. In contrast, larger wallets with between 10 and 10,000 BTC accumulated more Bitcoin during this time.

This divergence in behavior is not uncommon in cryptocurrency markets. Larger investors often view market downturns as opportunities to accumulate at lower prices, unlike retail investors who may panic sell.

As the market continues to digest the Coldcard incident, on-chain metrics will be closely watched to gauge underlying demand. Whale accumulation can be seen as a bullish signal, but it does not guarantee immediate price gains.
