Whales Accumulate as Smaller Holders Sell Out of Bitcoin Rally
Bitcoin's August rally saw large wallets accumulate approximately 60,000 BTC between August 1 and August 30, while smaller holders reduced their combined balance by around 33,000 BTC. This divergence in on-chain data suggests experienced capital may be positioning beyond the short-term pullback.
The accumulation of whale holdings did not appear to have returned to exchanges for sale by August 30, indicating that the largest buyers were not treating the rebound as a quick trade. Instead, they seem to be using volatility rather than retreating from it.
Meanwhile, Remittix Markets has crossed $50 million in volume, placing another early platform on the radar as traders search for where activity could accelerate next. The project's PayFi network and wallet are also gaining attention, with community members testing transfers across different countries to show how the network can serve people who want to use crypto for practical money movement.
