Whales Boost BTC, ETH, and XRP Holdings Amid Market Downturn
CryptoQuant's latest report suggests that large investors are boosting their stakes in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP, hinting that the prolonged market downturn could soon be over.
The firm's analysis reveals that 'whales', large wallets with significant holdings, have been accumulating positions across these key crypto assets. This buying activity often marks the final phase of a bear market.
CryptoQuant notes that Bitcoin whales are adding aggressively, with their holdings rising to 3.06 million BTC in 2026, despite being below the 2025 bull-cycle peak of 3.23 million BTC.
XRP whales are also quietly positioning, with spot order sizes remaining in 'big whale' territory while prices hold between $1.0 and $1.2. Ethereum holders have accumulated a record high near 19.6 million ETH, while mega-whales have added roughly 1.8 million ETH since mid-2025.
While valuations are approaching the undervalued zone across the board, CryptoQuant warns that further downside is always possible before a confirmed floor is reached.
