Whales Hoard Nearly 20k BTC as Retail Investors Slow Down
Large Bitcoin holders, known as whales and sharks, have accumulated nearly 19,700 BTC over the past eight days, according to on-chain analytics platform Santiment.
This buying spree comes at a time when retail investors appear to be slowing their dip-buying activity, suggesting that larger market participants are increasing their exposure while smaller investors remain cautious.
The trend is considered constructive for Bitcoin's supply dynamics, as accumulation by large holders can lead to a tighter circulating supply and create favorable conditions for price appreciation over time.
Santiment notes that when large holders accumulate BTC and move coins into long-term storage, the amount of Bitcoin readily available for sale on exchanges can decline, potentially strengthening Bitcoin's long-term outlook.
