White House Cracks Open Doors for Crypto Industry Execs

The White House is set to host a meeting with top executives from the crypto industry next week, according to a report from POLITICO. The event will take place one day before the Commodity Futures Trading Commission holds its first meeting for the new Innovation Advisory Committee, which features experts from various sectors including traditional finance and prediction markets.

The move comes despite a delay in the long-awaited Crypto Clarity Act, which aims to provide clarity on crypto regulations. The bill is expected to be voted on in September after lawmakers started mulling over a new draft in July. The text of the bill addresses ethics concerns by banning government officials from promoting or making money from crypto.

The White House's pro-crypto initiatives have been ongoing since President Trump took office, including a March 2025 executive order directing the creation of a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve and the scrapping of high-profile lawsuits against crypto companies. Regulators have also taken steps to watchdog the industry in a more helpful way.
