White House Crypto Official Pushes Back Against Democrat's Ethics Demands

Share

Patrick Witt, executive director of the White House crypto council, disputed Democrats' claim that ethics provisions in the CLARITY Act are insufficient. He stated that the current language is 'exactly what Democrats asked for,' and President Donald Trump had agreed to accept limits on his conduct.

No previous president has accepted such restrictions, according to Witt. Democrats now seek even tighter restrictions on Trump, but Witt argued that 'you can't hit two home runs with one swing.'

The CLARITY Act is a Republican-backed bill aimed at regulating the cryptocurrency space. The ethics provisions in question are part of the legislation's efforts to ensure transparency and accountability within the White House.
