White House Meets with Crypto Leaders on Stalled CLARITY Act
The White House is hosting a meeting today to discuss the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, a market-structure legislation that has been stuck in the Senate since the House passed it 13 months ago.
Coinbase, a16z, Ripple, and Chainlink executives are among those expected at the meeting, which will focus on giving American markets regulatory certainty to keep innovation and investment in the United States rather than offshore.
The CLARITY Act would divide jurisdiction between the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, placing most spot crypto trading under the CFTC while leaving securities activity with the SEC.
