White House Presses On With CLARITY Act Ahead of Mid-September Showdown
The White House is maintaining its push for the CLARITY Act, a bill aimed at providing clarity on crypto regulations. Despite missing its summer window, administration officials are doubling down ahead of a planned mid-September showdown.
Patrick Witt, a key digital-asset policy figure, stated that the White House remains committed to passing the Clarity Act in September. The administration argues that durable rules, which only legislation can provide, are necessary now more than ever.
Former Defense Secretary Mark Esper has also weighed in on the issue, framing clearer crypto rules as a national-security priority. He warned that without clear regulations, critical financial and tech infrastructure will be pushed into friendlier jurisdictions with thinner oversight.
