White House Reaffirms Commitment to CLARITY Act Ahead of Crucial Senate Vote
The White House has reaffirmed its commitment to passing the CLARITY Act in September. A cloture vote is scheduled for September 15, which requires 60 senators to advance the legislation.
The bill would divide digital-asset oversight between the SEC and CFTC, and codify federal rules for crypto trading, token issuance, and platforms including centralized exchanges (CEXs), decentralized exchanges (DEXs), and DeFi protocols.
White House crypto policy chief Patrick Witt has stated that 'The administration remains fully committed to getting the Clarity Act across the finish line in September.' He emphasized the need for durable rules provided by legislation, which would reduce regulatory uncertainty around fundraising, token launches, and security compliance.
