White House Seeks Community Banks' Input on Stablecoin Rewards
The White House attempted to involve community banks in discussions over stablecoin rewards but received no response.
According to Patrick Witt, the White House's digital-asset adviser, the American Bankers Association (ABA) and the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) attended every meeting related to stablecoin rewards.
Witt stated that the White House separately asked these groups if any individual member banks wanted to participate in the meetings but received no reply.
The discussions over stablecoin rewards between banks and the crypto industry are ongoing, with Senators Thom Tillis and Angela Alsobrooks continuing talks with the ABA, ICBA, and several community banks after the White House-led meetings ended.
