White House Stays Bullish on CLARITY Act Despite August Timeline
The White House remains optimistic about the prospects of the Digital Asset Market Clarity (CLARITY) Act, despite Senate Majority Leader John Thune's recent comment that it is unlikely to pass before August.
In a tweet, crypto enthusiast Diana pointed out that Patrick Witt, the White House's crypto advisor, acknowledged that Thune was 'factually correct' in saying the legislation would not formally pass before August.
However, Witt noted that the Senate remains in session during the first week of August and suggested it would be premature to rule out additional progress before lawmakers leave Washington.
The administration's goal is now procedural progress rather than final passage before August, with Witt indicating that they expect the bill to advance through the legislative process despite the tight timeline.
