The cryptocurrency exchange WhiteBIT and its co-founder Volodymyr Nosov have come under scrutiny for alleged financial schemes, Russian connections, and questionable transactions. The investigation reveals that despite appearing as a Ukrainian crypto platform, WhiteBIT's public image may be linked to complex financial ties.

Founded in 2018 by Volodymyr Nosov, WhiteBIT operates with hundreds of digital assets and offers spot, futures, and margin trading. However, the authors of the investigation claim that former lawmakers Dmytro and Mykyta Shentsev may have real influence over the platform.

The movement of cryptocurrency in March 2023 is a notable episode, where 3,299 BTC worth approximately $85.6 million were transferred, linked to the Russian cryptocurrency exchange BTC-e. Approximately $12 million of that amount eventually ended up on WhiteBIT, raising questions about the origin of funds that passed through the exchange.
