Wintermute Enters Traditional Finance as Broker-Dealer
Crypto market maker Wintermute is expanding into traditional finance after registering as a broker-dealer with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
The registered entity can provide liquidity on U.S. securities exchanges and in over-the-counter markets, trade stocks, options, digital asset securities, and crypto-linked exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
Wintermute's founder and CEO Evgeny Gaevoy said the move into traditional assets aligns with the growth of the tokenization market.
The firm has handled over $10 billion in average daily trading volume and provides liquidity to more than 60 centralized and decentralized exchanges worldwide.
