Wintermute Floods Binance with $256.8M in Bitcoin Deposits

Wintermute, a prominent cryptocurrency market maker, made significant Bitcoin deposits to Binance over the past week. The company deposited 590.9 BTC, worth around $45.66 million, into Binance roughly an hour ago, according to blockchain tracking platform Onchain Lens.

This latest transfer brings Wintermute's total Bitcoin deposits to the exchange to 3,834.3 BTC, valued at approximately $256.8 million. The series of deposits highlights ongoing activity by one of the crypto industry's most active liquidity providers.

While large exchange inflows are often interpreted as potential selling pressure, market makers like Wintermute routinely move assets to facilitate trading operations, arbitrage, or to meet liquidity demands. The transfers do not necessarily indicate a directional market view.

Bitcoin's price has remained relatively stable despite the significant volume of deposits, suggesting that the market has absorbed the inflows without major disruption. At the time of writing, BTC trades near $77,200, reflecting a modest 0.8% gain over the past 24 hours.
