Wintermute-Linked Wallets Move $399M in Bitcoin to Binance
A recent on-chain movement has caught the attention of crypto market observers, as wallets linked to Wintermute deposited approximately $399 million in Bitcoin to Binance over a two-day period.
The transfer, which was identified by blockchain tracking platform Onchain Lens, consisted of multiple transactions ranging from a few hundred to over 1,000 BTC. The total amount sent, 5,100 BTC, is one of the largest single-market-maker moves observed this quarter.
While market makers like Wintermute often move funds between exchanges and their own wallets for operational purposes, such as liquidity provision or arbitrage strategies, large exchange inflows can precede price swings. The timing of this transfer coincides with a period of heightened volatility in the crypto market.
