Wintermute Secures Broker-Dealer Status in US for Stock Market Expansion
Cryptocurrency company Wintermute has obtained broker-dealer status in the US, allowing it to expand its operations in American stock markets and traditional finance. The company's American division successfully obtained registration as a broker-dealer, enabling it to operate on regulated exchanges such as the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and Nasdaq.
With this license, Wintermute will be subject to oversight by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the self-regulatory organization FINRA. The company plans to engage in trading not only cryptocurrencies but also related financial instruments such as exchange-traded funds (ETFs), commodities, and tokenized stocks.
According to Wintermute's CEO Yevhen Gayovyi, the company achieved a trading volume of $3.5 trillion in 2022, with the current average daily figure reaching $10 billion. The company operates on more than 60 trading platforms, including CME and Uniswap.
