Wintermute's $190M Short Positions Spark Market Pullback Concerns

Wintermute's short positions on Hyperliquid have surged to $190.77 million, increasing by approximately $44.58 million in recent days.

The firm's largest short positions are concentrated in major tokens such as ETH ($53.02 million), BTC ($30.66 million), SOL ($22.62 million), HYPE ($11.43 million), and XRP ($10.19 million).

According to Onchain Lens, Wintermute has been injecting funds into Hyperliquid and increasing short positions consistently.

This comes amid a notable market pullback over the weekend, with BTC briefly approaching $80,000 before retreating.

Wintermute's large-scale transfers to Binance have also drawn attention, with 3,834.3 BTC worth approximately $256.8 million transferred this week.
