Witkoff Earnings Reveal Ties to Trump-Affiliated Crypto Venture
Financial disclosures reveal that U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff made nearly $107 million last year from a holding company affiliated with World Liberty Financial, a cryptocurrency firm he cofounded with President Donald Trump and members of their respective families.
The firm is operated by Witkoff's son, Zach Witkoff, and Trump's three sons. Critics argue that the private enterprise presents an appearance of conflict of interest due to its connection to the Trump administration.
World Liberty has maintained that there are no conflicts of interest, stating that Witkoff 'has no operational role, no financial interest in WLFI deals, and no influence on day-to-day decisions.'
Last year, Trump reported earning $526 million from the sale of cryptocurrency tokens through World Liberty Financial. He also earned an additional $65 million from sales of equity in WLF's holding company.
