Witkoff Reports $107M From Crypto-Linked Holding Amid Scrutiny
White House Special Envoy Steve Witkoff has reported earning $107 million from his parent entity, which holds his share of the crypto venture he co-founded with former President Donald Trump. The disclosure was part of a batch released by the White House this month and shows Witkoff's total assets at no less than $408.7 million.
However, it is unclear how much of the $107 million came from World Liberty Financial LLC, as the report omits the value and income of the holding company's underlying assets. In his previous filing, covering the period before he entered government, the same holding company produced $34 million in 2024.
World Liberty is known for its USD1 stablecoin and operates a lending-and-borrowing platform. It also issued another token, WLFI, which was distributed to early investors who remain restricted from selling. The project has faced scrutiny over potential conflicts of interest, with critics arguing that Witkoff's ownership stakes risked impacting his government work.
