WLFI Token Surges on Binance Campaign, But Analysts Warn of Short-Term Nature
The WLFI token recently reached a 10-week high in just hours, only to lose most of its gains in the same session. This rapid price surge was accompanied by a significant increase in large-wallet transactions, with $100K+ whale transactions hitting their highest level since April 11th, according to Santiment's on-chain data.
The spike in whale transactions is attributed to rising demand for USD1, the stablecoin embedded in WLFI's ecosystem. Binance's recent campaign offering rewards in WLFI to eligible users holding USD1 has created a yield-chasing loop, drawing attention from large players and resulting in a +19% intraday pump.
However, this price surge is seen as short-lived, with the subsequent reversal indicating that the bid was fragile. The pattern is familiar: promotional incentives generate short-term demand, whales ride the momentum, and prices snap back once buying dries up.
