Wood's Ark Invest Loads Up on COIN, CRCL Amid Crypto Market Pressure
Cathie Wood's Ark Invest has made several significant trades in recent days. The investment firm, led by CEO Cathie Wood, bought $43.5 million in shares of Coinbase (COIN) and Circle (CRCL), while selling positions in four other crypto equities.
The purchases were made over the past three sessions, with Ark buying 122,544 COIN shares worth $18.6 million and 169,777 CRCL shares worth $12.9 million. Meanwhile, the firm sold 120,665 Bitmine (BMNR) shares, 13,403 Block shares, 12,561 Robinhood (HOOD) shares, and 11,314 Bullish (BLSH) shares.
The moves suggest Wood is rotating capital within her crypto portfolio rather than reducing overall exposure to the sector. The decision to buy COIN and CRCL may be driven by their recent performance, with both stocks falling alongside Bitcoin earlier this week.
COIN was down 7% over the past seven days, while CRCL fell 6.5%. In contrast, Robinhood reported second-quarter earnings that topped Wall Street expectations but revealed crypto revenue fell nearly 40% from a year earlier.
