Wood's Crypto Shopping List: Coinbase and Circle Lead the Way
Cathie Wood of Ark Invest is making bold moves in the cryptocurrency market by buying up undervalued assets. Two stocks on her radar are Coinbase Global (COIN) and Circle Internet Group (CRCL).
Wood's investment strategy is centered around the growing demand for digital assets and blockchain technology among institutional investors. She believes that both Coinbase and Circle have immense growth potential, driven by their innovative approaches to the market.
Coinbase has transformed from a crypto exchange into a platform offering various financial instruments, including prediction market contracts, tokenized equities, and perpetual futures. Its revenue has been boosted by strong growth in prediction market revenue, despite missing earnings estimates. Wood has invested nearly $8 million in Coinbase shares, taking advantage of the stock's dip.
Circle Internet Group, on the other hand, is a leading stablecoin issuer with a significant market presence through its USDC token. However, the company's stock has sold off due to increased competition from new stablecoins like Open USD. Wood sees this as an opportunity to buy into Circle at a discounted price, driven by the company's recent announcement of its Arc blockchain network and partnerships with major financial institutions.
