World Chain Leads the Charge with EIP-7928 Upgrade
World Chain has become the first production layer-2 blockchain to deploy a streamed implementation of Ethereum Improvement Proposal (EIP) 7928, introducing block access lists that increase transaction throughput without requiring expensive hardware upgrades.
The feature goes live on World Chain's Mainnet on August 17. Normally, validators must wait for an entire block to be completed before verifying it, but World Chain's implementation allows validators to begin checking transactions while blocks are still under construction.
According to World Chain, testing showed that validation latency remained largely unchanged even when throughput spiked, with the network achieving an impressive throughput of up to one gigagas per second using standard cloud infrastructure.
