A report from blockchain analysis firm Chainalysis found that over 400,000 wallets participated in blockchain-based betting throughout the tournament, with 55% of bettors coming out ahead.
The majority of activity was driven by legitimate fans, with less than 1% linked to illicit sources. The report highlighted the success of FIFA's 'FIFA Collect' platform, which allowed fans to buy and sell digital moments commemorating the tournament's biggest stars.
